Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Since the mid 80s, Angela Evelyn has worked in film and TV. Her work has been recognized with several awards, among them the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by her aunt in New York New York. Her mother split with her father when she was around five. Bassett and her younger sister later went into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school when she was able to see James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and knew that her dream of becoming an actor had been born. Yale University New Haven Connecticut in which she graduated with her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). At Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. The Yale School of Drama awarded an M.A. in Fine Arts in African American Studies to Angela Bassett back in the year. She attended the following schools: Jordan Park elementary school, Disston Middle School for 7th graders, Azalea Middle School for 8th and 9th grades and Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett has been cast in one the leading roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure movie, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
