Angela Evelyn Bassett is an American actress. Since the late 80s, Angela Evelyn has worked in television and film. She's received numerous awards including the 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and was raised by her aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett moved with her twin sister in St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order to be near their mother, who was separated from their dad. Bassett watched the James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play while she was still in highschool and realized that she was an actor and was looking to pursue. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). She met Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American Studies) in the year 1980. The Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School.
