Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15, 1961) was an American actress. Known for her work in film and television from the mid-80s onwards, she has received various accolades including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett comes born in New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her mother split with her father when she was around five. Bassett and her younger sister then relocated to St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett chose to become an actress after she saw the play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut earning a bachelor's diploma (1980) on African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They were married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Bachelor of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in the lead role of Ramonda for the action movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
